Tile and Handbuilding
Mondays March 30 - May 18: (8 weeks) 1 - 4 PM [Kathy Adams]
Students learn to use use slab techniques to roll out standard and inventive tile shapes, utilize techniques in image transfer, intuitive design, building up textures to create a raised surface, glazing and color that strengthens the image for forms that can serve as functional as well as pure artistic imagery. Hand building instruction is also included in which texture and three dimensional sculptural techniques will be given. Ages 18+
SUPPLIES: 8 Piece Pottery Tool Kit can be purchased from our shop online, $10. The kits will be waiting for you on your first day of class. Also needed are a 1 gallon container to hold supplies/and be a water bucket, an old towel, and a full-front apron.
