Pickle Jar
Saturdays. May 16 [1 DAY]: 1 - 5PM [Ginger Lukas]
For Beginnermediates, you should know how to throw a cylinder. Are you a home cook and a beginning potter who likes experimenting with your own flavors? Come and make your own water rim pickle jar! Students will spend three hours throwing and forming their small pickle crocks, as well as a lid and weights. The focus of this class will be on beauty and functionality - the goal is for each student to have their own small working crock for making pickles or kimchi or sauerkraut. We will talk recipes as well as techniques! As this is a one day workshop, students will have to specify what glaze colors they would like and leave the finishing up to the ceramics team at SAA. Ages 16+
