Oil or Acrylic Painting: One Point Perspective ​

Mondays, Mar 25 - May13 (8 WEEKS), 2 - 4:30PM [Ashlynn Frey]
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of one point perspective: rural landscape and/or cityscape. The course will cover the concepts of perspective painting and explain all the terms related to it such as vanishing point, horizon lines, and etc. In this class, students will also learn the fundamentals of painting by exploring techniques and concepts of painting such as composition, color theory, color mixing, brushwork, and blending. If students are painting with oil paint, they must have previous experience painting in that medium. Supply List: Please bring (2) 8x10 or bigger canvases. Oil Painters will need the following: Silicoil brush cleaner tank, and palette. Oil Paint: Suggested Brands: Gamblin, Rembrandt, Old Holland, (Winsor & Newton or Ultrech – Less expensive) Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, and Burnt Umber. SAA has some oil/acrylic paints and brushes available for students.  Ages 16+
