Fridays Jan 15 - Mar 19: 6 - 9PM. 10 Week Class [Danny Brikshavana]
Learn how to fine tune your technique on the wheel in this 10-week intermediate course. Students will learn how to proactively plan a ceramic project, to balance form and function, and to see how tools may aid in their successful production of a full tea set within the 10-week session. Techniques planned to be covered include "throwing on the hump", lid/jar making, and basic introduction to making glazes. Classes will be more prescriptive and require students to already have the skill set to produce consistent wheel thrown cylinders. Tools needed: an N99 mask, sand paper (sheet of 180, 220, 320), round 3.5"x1.25" sponge and dowel (at least 12" length x .25" round) to make an extended sponge tool (instructor can provide items: $2 at cost).
