Designed for the beginning metalsmith, this class will cover the foundations of making jewelry and metal objects, Students will learn how to safely use pliers, jewelers saw, torches, rolling mill and hammers through a series of projects that will include a soldered silver ring, a heavy forged cuff bracelet, a bezel set stone, and more! No prior experience required.
Supply List: Students will need 1"x4" 20 ga sterling sheet, 6" 12 ga sterling round wire, 3' 20 ga sterling round wire, 6" fine silver bezel wire, and 6" 6 ga square sterling rod. I can put together an order for these materials and students will pay for silver packages. Projects can be executed in copper as well. Packages usually run approximately $40-50 depending on the market price of silver.
Students should bring fine tipped sharpie markers and hand tools if they have them.
