This is a History Camp.
Before we were able to get produce year round at the grocery store, food preservation was a necessary part of preparing for winter. Preserved foods could be kept in a cool cellar for an extended period of time, only to be opened as needed. These skills are still useful (and fun!) today. Campers will learn the skills to preserve foods on their own, and will take home their own products to share.
