Glass Casting
Mondays, July 7 - August 25, 6 - 9 PM (8 Weeks) [Kaylee Demlow]
In this course students will learn the basics of mold-making for the glass casting process. We will cover modeling for mold-making, investment mold-making for open-face castings, pâte de verre technique, and coldworking for finishing pieces. Tools and some materials will be provided by SAA for student use. Student cost for further materials will vary depending on project design.
Class Capacity is 8. Ages 18+
SUPPLIES: Closed-toed shoes, natural fiber clothing, and N-95 dust mask, modeling tools (optional), pencils, paper, paint mixing buckets 1 quart or 2 1/2 quart, Vaseline, hairspray (the cheaper the better), and sharpie marker. Specific glass needs will be discussed during the first class.
