Coils, Slabs, and Tiles
Mondays, September 26 - November 14 [8 WEEKS] : 1 - 4 PM [Kathy Adams]
Students will learn to use slab techniques to roll out standard and inventive tile shapes, utilize techniques in image transfer, intuitive design, building up textures to create a raised surface, glazing and color that strengthens the image for forms that can serve as functional as well as pure artistic imagery. Hand building instruction is also included in which texture and three dimensional sculptural techniques will be given.
SUPPLIES: 8 Piece Pottery Tool Kit. Also needed are a 1 gallon container to hold supplies/and be a water bucket, an old towel, and a full-front apron.
