1:00 PM  –  4:00 PM

Friday January 19 - March 9: 1 -4 PM [Poppy Vincent] Enameling is the art of fusing glass to metal. In this class that will be accomplished by firing our pieces in a kiln. And new this season, you will also be torch firing the enamels. Copper will be the metal of choice. The glass enamel is very fine like sugar and can be applied through various techniques. We will work with lead free opaque and transparent enamels of different colors. Some of the techniques we will explore are sifting, wet packing, stencils, scrafitto and painted enamel. For students that have previously etched pieces we can enamel them. That technique is called champleve. There will be copper available for experimenting. There will also be copper available to purchase for different projects.
