Glass Casting 1

Tuesdays. Mar 26 - May 14(8 WEEKS): 6 - 9 PM [Kaylee Demlow]
In this course students will learn the basics of mold-making for the glass casting process. Students will learn modeling for mold-making, investment mold-making for blow-molds and open-face castings, pâte de verre technique, and cold working for finishing pieces. Tools and some materials will be provided by SAA for student use. Student cost for further materials will vary depending on project design (average cost to expect $50). Ages 18+
SUPPLIES: Closed-toed shoes, natural fiber clothing, N-95 dust mask, modeling tools (optional), pencils, paper, cheap plastic mixing bowls (optional), cheap silicone kitchen tools (optional), Vaseline, hairspray (the cheaper the better), sharpies, casting glass (dependent on project design)
